Welcome to York IA

York IA is a patient led support group whose primary aim is to provide help, support, advice and friendship to people who have had surgery to remove their large bowel.

We work closely with the hospitals in North Yorkshire in particular in York, Harrogate, Scarborough and Northallerton. Working alongside the medical professionals we can provide realistic and practical advice from our own experiences of living with an ileostomy or an internal pouch.

Throughout these pages you will find information about York IA, the work we do, and how we can help you. York IA are keen to make this website a valuable resource for all our members and would apreciate your feedback on the ways we can improve it and your ideas for additional content.
